Dr. Adam Matthews- Podiatrist Patient Admit Form
Dr. Matthews main office is in Pocatello but will be seeing patients and performing surgery at BLMH twice a month. Dr. Matthews is another hometown boy that got a medical education and now wishes to return to the extent possible to treat the citizens with which he spent his childhood. Dr. Matthews, after graduating from BLHS attended ISU on a track and field scholarship; later served a two year mission for the LDS Church in Canada before graduating from ISU with a BA in Zoology. His educational direction changed following his marriage as he was introduced to the wonderful profession of podiatry through his father-in-law who is also a podiatrist. Adam attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago where he earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Adam and his wife Krista have four children; two girls and two boys. Adam loves the Bear Lake Valley and can’t wait to serve the good people that live here. Dr. Robert R. Jones, M.D., Ophthalmology
Dr. Jones did his undergraduate work at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in premedical studies. He attended medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He was one of six students from a class of 175 elected by the faculty to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in his junior year and was the recipient of the Lange Medical Publications Award for outstanding achievement. He completed an internship in internal medicine/emergency medicine at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City and is thus a fully qualified general practitioner of medicine. Dr. Jones then completed an extensive residency in surgery and diseases of the eye at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In his final year at Mayo, he served as chief resident of the department of ophthalmology. He is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is one of only a few physicians to be granted re-certification by the Board in 2003. This involved completion of more than 300 hours of continuing medical education as well as passing board re-certification examinations and office record reviews. Dr. Keith J. Nelson, M.D., Orthopaedic Care Patient Admit Form
Dr. Nelson is a Cache Valley native who has always been involved with sports. His love for sports is what inspired his practice and specialty in sports medicine. He takes great pride in surgically repairing injured athletes and assisting them with getting back to competition. He followed his graduation from the University of Utah Medical School with orthopaedic training at the University of Southern California. Dr. Nelson then completed his fellowship training under E. Marlowe Goble, M.D. in sports medicine and knee disorders. Dr Nelson is an innovator who works as a consultant developing new arthroscopic tools to aid in surgery. Dr. Kerry Jepsen, M.D., Orthopaedic Care Patient Admit Form
Dr. Jepsen is a general Orthopedic Surgeon with special interest in sports medicine and an extensive background in major trauma. He has recently completed his military service as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany.Dr. Jepsen has family ties to Southeastern Idaho and now lives near his parents in the Mink Creek area with his wife and 8 children. He completed his Orthopedics residency in 2001 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas and received his M.D. degree from Uniform Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Jepsen’s military medical career took him first to Osan Air Base, Korea, and then to Germany. He came to Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in October 2009 from Landstuhl, Germany where he was Chief of Orthopedic Services at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
