Sally Harper
Sally
Harper was recruited from the Manor before it was owned by Bear
Lake Memorial in 2000 by Ruth Wallentine. She has worked for
BLMH for 7 years, having taken a 2-year LOA to serve in Argentina
with her husband on a mission. Sally is the Hospital's Dietary
Supervisor. She is Bonnie Caywood's right-hand-man, taking care
of clerical duties, ordering, and anything else Bonnie asks her
to do. Bonnie nominated Sally for the Above and Beyond award.
Sally was born in Nampa, Idaho,
but has lived many places, including a number of years in Alaska.
Sally likes fishing and said the biggest fish she ever caught
was an 85 lb Halibut. She also caught a 55 lb Salmon. This year
she plans to learn how to fly fish, since she received fly fishing
gear for her birthday.
Sally was married in Hawaii and
has been married 22 years. Between Sally and her husband, they
have 9 children, who live in Alaska, Utah and California. They
have 31 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. This year three
of her grandchildren graduated from high school. Sally is active
in her church. She taught seminary for 10 years, including teaching
special needs children. She also teaches Gospel Doctrine.
Sally is a teacher at heart.
She attended ISU and has taken classes at the University of Alaska,
Anchorage, Homer Branch. She has 3-4 semesters to go to complete
her teaching degree. Sally enjoys reading, and is completing
a 7-volume Jane Austen set, finishing with Lady Susan. She also
loves board games and is an avid Jazz Fan. She likes traveling
and plans to spend the Christmas holidays this year in Hawaii.
Being with her family is most important to her.
Sally enjoys working at BLMH
and deeply appreciates the people who have been so compassionate
with her during the tragedies that have occurred in her life.
She is grateful for those who check in on her just to see how
she's doing and encourage her. Congratulations, Sally, for your
Above and Beyond efforts!

Rod Jacobson, Hospital Administrator is a native of Montpelier, Idaho and
has been serving as the Hospital Administrator since 1985. Rod
traveled 160 miles south to the University of Utah to obtain
his Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. He also has
degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry as well as being a registered
lab technician and x-ray technician.
In addition to his administrative
responsibilities, Rod has served on the Boards of the Idaho Hospital
Association, Blue Cross of Idaho, the Regional Representative
of the American Hospital Association, the Idaho Rural Health
Education Center, and Idaho State University's Associate Degree
Registered Nurse Program.
Rod is very active in community
development and community events and enjoys coaching baseball,
teaching snow skiing, fly fishing, hunting and camping. His wife
Peggy and four children and five grandchildren enjoy all that
living in Bear Lake County has to offer.

Cameron Marlowe, Assistant Administrator and CFO at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital grew
up in Southeast Idaho and received two undergraduate degrees
in Healthcare Administration and Finance from Idaho State University
and and recently received his MBA from Western Governors University.
Cam is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare
Executives (ACHE) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association
(HFMA). Previous employers include Blue Cross of Idaho and St.
Luke's Regional Medical Center.
Cam has served on the Gem Team, the Chamber of Commerce, and
in the Boy Scouts of America, and enjoys interacting with the
residents of the Bear Lake Valley. He likes skiing, golfing,
hiking, camping, and photography. Cam and Amy are the parents
of three children, Andrea, Hannah, and Collin.

Dr. S. Jeff Bray, DPM, FACFAS offers podiatry services at Bear Lake
Memorial Hospital the first Friday of each month. Dr. Bray currently
practices at the Pocatello Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute
and at the Portneuf Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
facility. He is a 1992 graduate of Brigham Young University,
Provo Utah, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology
degree. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1996
from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco
and completed his podiatric surgical residence at the Kern Hospital
in Warren, Michigan from July, 1996 to June, 1998. He was Board
Certified in foot surgery by The American Board of Podiatric
Surgery in July 2004. Dr. Bray practiced from 1998 - 2001 at
The Foot Care Center in Sheridan Wyoming and from 2001-2005 at
the South Idaho Foot and Ankle Clinic, Twin Falls, Idaho.

Dr. Clay Campbell, M.D. is a family practitioner who received
his Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University and his
M.D. from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his family
practice residency with the Family Practice Residency of Idaho
in Boise, Idaho and was board certified by the American Board
of Family Practice in July, 1994 and 2000. He served as chief
of staff for Bear Lake Memorial Hospital from 1996-97, 2003-04.
He is the medical director for the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital
Home Health and Mental Health. He served as a board member of
the Bear Lake Valley Health Care Foundation from 1996-98. He
also served as the secretary of the board of directors of the
Idaho Association of Physicians from 1995-97. He has recently
been appointed a board member of the Idaho Academy of Family
Physicians and has affiliations with both the University of Washington
as a preceptor and with Idaho State University as Affiliate Faculty.

Dr. Jack O. Clark, M.D. received
his medical training at the University of Utah. He did his residency
in Internal Medicine at Penn State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
He joined the staff of Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in July 1999.
His special areas of interest are cardiac disease, respiratory
disease and diabetes. He treats a full range of internal medicine
problems on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Dr. Robert Degnan, M.D., OB GYN, is an
obstetrician/gynecologist who received his B.S. degree from Occidental
University and his M.D. degree from UCLA. He did his internship
at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York and his residency
at the New York Lying-In Hospital (Cornell). He was board certified
as an OB GYN in June, 1968. His practice experience includes
locations such as Hacienda Heights, CA, Rock Springs WY, Salem
MO, and Montpelier ID.

Dr. Joe Podany, General Surgeon, is an
experienced board certified abdominal and bariatric surgeon.

Dr. Trevor Robinson, M.D., OB GYN, has strong
ties to the Bear Lake Area. He grew up in Lovel, Wyoming. His
father and grandfather are from Laketown. He and his wife, Kathleen,
have four children. His interests include basketball, hiking
and camping with his family, and herpetology.
Dr. Robinson is trained in high
risk deliveries and is experienced in laparoscopic surgeries
including hysterectomies. He has also worked for a year in a
very busy Emergency Room in South Carolina. Dr. Robinson's practice
will focus on family health, women's health and obstetrics.

Dr. Vashu Thakur
is board certified to

Dr. Thakur is a graduate of Bombay
University and Tulane University in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
He was a professor of Clinical Medicine at Louisiana State University

Bonnie Caywood, RD, LD has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Idaho
State University, May 2000. She completed her post-graduate dietetic
internship at Idaho State University, May 2001. Bonnie has been
licensed with the Idaho State Board of Medicine since September
2001 and is a registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic
Registration since September 2001

Gary S. Griffin, CRNA, Chief of Anesthesia is a highly skilled career professional
with over 25 years practical anesthesia experience in hospital,
trauma, intensive care and primary care environments. He specializes
in trauma, obstetric, and pediatric anesthesia and is highly
regarded in his ability to perform epidural anesthesia. He and
his wife of 31 years, Georgia, have four children, Aaron, Amy,
Emily and Alec and 3 grandchildren.

Memorial since 1985, Gary is also a staff/on call anesthetist
for neighboring counties in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. He received
his diploma from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing
in Portland, Oregon, in 1975, a certificate in Critical Care
Nursing in 1976 from the University of Oregon Health Sciences
Center, a diploma in Nurse Anesthesia from the Truman Medical
Center in Kansas City, Missouri in 1978 and served as Staff Anesthetist
as a US Army Reservist from 1977-1991. He is a member of the
Idaho Nurse Anesthetist Association, American Association of
Nurse Anesthetists, Bear River Medical Society, and American
Academy of Pediatrics. Gary has been involved in civic leadership
as City Councilman, City Fire Department, President of the National
Oregon Trail Museum and Chairman of the Bear Lake County School
District. In his 'spare' time, Gary gardens, keeps bees and has
restored cars. |

Dorian Grunig, Nurse Anesthetist was raised and graduated from High School
in Montpelier, ID. He along with his wife Angela and three children
have lived in Montpelier in December of 2004.
Dorian attended the School of Anesthesia in Middle Tennessee
where he graduated with a Master's Degree in Science with an
emphasis in Anesthesia.
He along with his wife Angela

William J. Jensen, PA-C, MMS (Physician's Assistant)
works with Dr. Jack Clark
and Dr. Clay Campbell located at 166 South 5th Street, Montpelier,

medical care. While Bill grew up in Boise, ID the majority of
his family is from Eastern Idaho and Bill loves being back where
his real roots are.
Bill got his Bachelors degree
in Community Health from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.
During that time Bill worked as a surgical assistant and taught
Portuguese at the MTC. Bill received his Physician Assistants
degree and a Masters of Medical Science from Saint Louis University
in St. Louis, MO.
Before coming to Montpelier in
2006, and as a participant with the National Health Service Corp.,
Bill worked for 3 years in a small gold mining town in Nevada
where he provided General and Emergency medical care and served
as the Clinic Manager overseeing the clinic staff and operations.
His wife Aleisha and their 3
children, Spencer, Molly, and Brigham are grateful to live and
work in the Bear Lake Valley and enjoy the abundance of outdoor
recreational opportunities available here. |

Alex Moss, PA-C (Physician's Assistant) received his Bachelor's Degree from Rocky
Mountain College in Billings, Montana. Upon graduation in 2004,
he and his family moved to Montpelier and he is currently employed
at Dr. Wolff's Family Practice, located at 465 Washington Street,
Montpelier (208) 847-2878.
He grew up in Rockland, Idaho
and went on to work in southern Utah as a Paramedic for 3 years.
Alex married Michelle Moss and they are the proud parents of
Dalton, Ethan, Anika and Fenton. Alex loves to read, watch Jeopardy,
hunt, hike, camp, and try out new hair restoration products (so
far he has had no success). |
